The Chester County Art Association has received a $1,873.43 grant from the Philadelphia Foundation. The “Chester County Art Association Arts Award Fund supports CCAA’s “Excellence Awards Program” for exhibiting artists. Announcement of the grant was made by R. Andrew Swinney, President of the Foundation, whose Board of Managers approved the grant on June 2, 2008.
Darcie Goldberg, Executive Director of CCAA, said the funds would be used by the organization to provide excellence awards to artists exhibiting in juried and non-juried exhibitions throughout the year. The funds are also used to provide honorariums for the jurors selected to jury and arrange the exhibits and other general program support.
As Southeastern Pennsylvania’s primary provider of philanthropic services, The Philadelphia Foundation manages more than 750 charitable funds established by caring families who want to give something back to their community. Revenue generated from these funds provides grants and scholarships to over 1,000 cultural, educational and humanitarian programs, exactly as the donors intended.
